Awhile ago I added Marla a partially deaf Chin to our home. (3 other Chin). When I first got her I posted how "growly" she was. I initially thought it was because she couldn't hear very well. Well it's been a couple of months and NO improvement. She is very possessive and completely goes ballistic without provoking. She is very small, still only about 2.5 lbs. But my other female who is a "chunky" 6lbs, is completely submissive to her. When I'm home I can break up the fights, but I'm really concerned that when I'm gone Gracie is going to get hurt. We definitely reprimand Marla, but I'm kind of at a loss on what to do next. She is not spayed yet, I'm going to do it soon and hopefully that will help. __________________ Jessica, Sunny, Spike, Grace, and Marla |

My last dog was not so much aggressive as he was dominant. This may be the problem - your new girl is trying to be the alpha dog in the pack. I have used in home trainers and they are a blessing. They can see the dogs in their environment, how they interact with each other and you and there is no distraction as there would be with dogs in a class. I highly recommend you look into this. |

She is definately trying to be ALPHA and it is being heightened because of her deafness. They should all definately be crated when you are not home or at least separated by gates, doors etc. __________________ Carol |
